German's WDSD Programme 2009

21.03.2009 World Down Syndrome Day in Germany

Slogan: Don‘t let me down!
In Germany we choosed the slogan „Don‘t let me down!“ for the World- Down-Syndrome Day 2009 campaign.
A logo was designed for activities around the World Down Syndrome Day. Our organisation will use it on all our printed material, for the website etc.

Distributing buttons/pins

We are producing pins (buttons) with the logo. Parentorganisations in Germany order the pins and use them for their activities. As the date on the pins is 21.3 you can use them also in the next years.
Anyone interested? Pins can be ordered at the German Down-Syndrom InfoCenter

Do-it-yourself-Poster-Campaign

The so called „Do-it- yourself-Poster-Campaign“ has been settled since some years. It is a very effectiv and cheap way producing posters.
Parents send a foto from their child to their organisations. The organisations have designed a layout, the foto will be placed into the layout and then sent back per E-Mail. Families can print out the posters themselves and distribute as many they like in their homecity.
Some examples of the this year campaign:

Informationspot on 250 Big-Infoscreens in Germanys 20 largest Railwaystations

On 21. March a 10-second-Imagespot will be shown all over the day on 250 big screens in the railway/metrostations of Germanys largest cities.
At the same time young people with Down Syndrome will distribute information flyer and pins in the railwaystations, and togehter with parents and friends inform the public about Down Syndrome and the purpose of celebrating this awarenessday

Mit freundlichen Grüßen
