Funded by the Equal Opportunities Commission, the Association launched a series of programs to echo the 321 World Down Syndrome Day in order to enhance public understanding towards people with Down syndrome. In November 2009, we launched a photography competition named "You and me, are the Same - let's show DS Brilliance". We matched members with Down syndrome with participants and took pictures to raise public awareness, elimination of discrimination and building of equal and harmonious society.
We successfully invited Mr. To Man Chak, a HK famous artist, Miss Ann Choi, a professional photographer, and Mr. Kevin Kwan, Committee Chairman of the Hong Kong Police Photography Club to be judges. The selection exercise was finished in early February 2010. Prize Presentation Ceremony will be held on 21 March. An Art Festival will follow on 17 April to extend the celebration.
