International Mosaic Down Syndrome Association is celebrating
World Down Syndrome Day in a fun and unique way. IMDSA is
holding its 2nd Annual Genes Day. Genes Day™ is designed
to educate and promote awareness to those in the school, workplace
and community. Individuals form "Teams" and ask
co-workers and classmates to "pay" to wear the "jeans"
for the day. In exchange, individuals learn more about the
"designer genes" in Down syndrome and how those
with Down syndrome are capable of doing most anything that
their peers are capable of. All funds raised during this event
go towards IMDSA's Outreach & Research programs to further
the education and awareness of mosaic Down syndrome and Down
syndrome. The top 3 fundraising teams will receive approximately
$550.00 in resources each for their efforts. For every $25
raised individuals will receive a special Genes Day T-shirt
to wear with their jeans and further spread awareness. Interested
participants can visit our website www.imdsa.com/genesday.htm
to learn more about this exciting event!
Congratulations on another year of awareness!
