LOTS OF SOCKS
Down Syndrome International invited everyone across the world to wear LOTS OF SOCKS on 21 March 2015 to raise awareness on World Down Syndrome Day (WDSD).
Thank you for getting people talking about WDSD on 21 March!
So many of you wore socks…BUT NOT JUST ANY SOCKS…our Official LOTS OF SOCKS logo socks, other brightly coloured socks, long socks, printed socks, 1 sock… even 3 socks for 3 chromosomes. If you didn’t normally wear socks, you wore them. AND YOU DID NOT STOP AT SOCKS? You wore clothing with the LOTS OF SOCKS logo, our LOTS OF SOCKS t-shirts, WDSD t-shirts and other brightly coloured clothing.
We asked you to wear something which people would ask you about so that you could tell them all about WDSD. You all did just that! At your homes, nurseries, schools, colleges, universities, at work, at play, travelling, on holiday and at WDSD activities and events all over the world!
On 21 March, you wore LOTS OF SOCKS and invited all your friends, family and colleagues to do the same. THANK YOU!
THANK YOU also to those of you who raised money to support people with Down syndrome through LOTS OF SOCKS and WDSD activities and events. Many of you have made donations or held fundraising events to benefit your local, regional and national Down syndrome charities, with some donating a percentage or all to Down Syndrome International to support "Reach Out", our outreach training programmes in developing countries.
