Anived, from India

Today my baby Anived is 18 months old.

After he was born, Anived suffered from fever and jaundice and at 4 days old he had trouble with his breathing. We took him for evaluation and it was discovered that he had a PDA in his heart, and he was diagnosed with Down syndrome.

We were very fearful but we pushed for his treatment. After 11 months, Anived got heart surgery in India.

Now Anived is good. At 14 months he could sit alone. We do our best for Anived. He cannot yet speak or stand alone but he tries every day. 

Anived is very energetic and soon he will stand alone.

The best way to promote awareness of Down syndrome is for people with Down syndrome to share their own stories in their own words.
