Austen from the United States
I am Austen Babcock.
I was diagnosed with Mosaic Down syndrome when I was born.
I faced many struggles in my life.
I became a student at the St, Johnsbury Academy VT.
When I became a senior at the academy, I made a massive appearance when I spoke in chapel on March,17 about World Down Syndrome Day (WDSD).
I was nervous at first.
I was told by many people that I made them cry.
I asked my high school to wear mismatched socks to support WDSD.
And guess what? They wore mismatched socks.
That shows that they support people with Down syndrome.
The best way to promote awareness of Down syndrome is for people with Down syndrome to share their own stories in their own words.
