Korok is 18 years old. The Bengali meaning of the name KOROK is the ‘LOTUS BUD’.

Korok was diagnosed with Down syndrome when he was 7 and a half months old. 

Karok has a passion for dance and music. 

Realizing his inclination to the art of dance and music, Karok was given formal training in various dance forms. 

Korok achieved a National Scholarship from C.C.R.T (Center for Cultural Resources & Training), under the Ministry of Cultural Affairs; Govt. of India on Gaudiya Nritya.

Korok, the Lotus bud, bloomed up by the passionate nourishment, affections & love of his School Noble Mission of South Calcutta at Mukundapur, Kolkata, his beloved Dance Teachers, and moral support from the entire CCRT team. 

Korok has been inspired to expose his fragrance and ability to the entire society, targeted to be a mainstream Dancer, which in turn helped him in achieving many accolades, awards and lifetime achievements to date.

Among these:

  • Korok was nominated for the ‘International Children’s Peace Prize 2020’, awarded by ‘Kids Rights Foundation’, under the United Nations.
  • Korok was State Award Winner for ‘Out-Standing Creative Child for the year 2014’ on Dance & Sports by the Disable Commissioner; W.D & S.W Deptt; Govt. of West Bengal.
  • Korok was awarded Senior Diploma in Rabindra Nritya from Rabindra Bharati University.
